Communicative Game-Based Learning in EFL Grammar Class: Suggested Activities and Students’ Perception

The role of grammar instruction is inevitably important for second and/or foreign language mastery. Unfortunately, in practice, many English teachers contexts such as Indonesia still teach deductively; that is, learners are provided the rules and examples, told to memorize them, then asked apply other examples. This particular method teaching believed produce who cannot use communicatively although they have considerable knowledge rules. It has also been seen contributing learners’ passive participation negative feelings towards learning. aims this paper give an alternative solution problem by offering some ideas game-based activities investigate students’ perception implementation communicative Using pre- post-study questionnaire, research study was conducted with 30 adult EFL taking after-class course. findings indicated these were effective creating a non-threatening more relaxing classes, changing learning improving their perceived skills.
